What can be expected?

The school leaver is educated so that he or she can:

• make repairs of all road motor vehicles and use mounting devices and special meters;
• read technical and service documentation for various kinds and types of road motor vehicles, workshop tables, extracts of standards, etc. as well as technical drawings and diagrams contained in the documentation;
• identify defects including their causes and remedy the failures of different machines and equipment;
• repair damaged motor components, gearboxes and other parts of road motor vehicles without any assistance of other persons;
• use diagnostic devices designed to check the condition of motors, electrical accessories and other vehicle parts and make necessary adjustments.

Opportunities for the school leaver

• The students successfully passing the final examination can work as motor vehicle mechanics at car repair services, ČSAD transport operations workshops or private car repair shops.
• They can also work in automobile industry, transport industry and at vehicle testing and emission measurement stations.
• After gaining the required experience, getting driving licence and passing professional examinations they can work as bus or truck drivers.
• After gaining the required experience and passing the prescribed exams, if any, they can operate as sole traders.
• Depending on the study results achieved they can continue studies in follow-up courses (e.g. focused on business) in order to pass the “maturita” examination (similar to GCE examination).
