What can be expected?

The school leaver is educated so that he or she can:

  • possess workmanship skills in electrical installation maintenance, connection and maintenance, repair and adjustment of appliances;
  • be skilled in common electrical measurement methods applied in practice and able to evaluate the measurement results;
  • select and apply the proper procedures for electrical equipment commissioning based on technical documentation;
  • understand the physical fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics and can apply the principles in both the laboratory and operational practice;
  • have general knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and metallurgy and computer equipment application in electrical equipment or plumbing system designing.

Opportunities for the school leaver

  • The student successfully passing the final examination is qualified for a number of professions such as an electrician, plant light-current equipment electrician, electrical and electronic equipment fitter, measurement, control and automatic equipment fitter, electrical fitter, electrical appliance serviceman, plant light-current equipment electrician in power engineering industry, wire-man, distribution network wire-man or construction site electrician.
  • After gaining the required experience and passing the prescribed exams, if any, he or she can operate as a sole trader.
  • Depending on the study results achieved he or she can continue studies in follow-up courses (e.g. focused on business) in order to pass the “maturita” examination (similar to GCE examination).
