What can be expected?

The school leaver is educated so that he or she can:

  • possess knowledge of building joinery and furniture design and production technologies;
  • possess knowledge of materials, tools, machines and equipment;
  • perform in-process and final product inspection and product assembly and fabricate both custom-made and standard furniture;
  • perform regular timber semi-product and other material processing tasks;
  • carry out regular furniture maintenance and surface finish and is familiar with special material finishing techniques.

Opportunities for the school leaver

  • The student successfully passing the final examination can perform the professions such as a joiner, furniture joiner, foreman, etc.
  • Depending on the study results achieved he or she can continue studies in follow-up courses (e.g. focused on business) in order to pass the “maturita” examination (similar to GCE examination).
  • After getting the required experience and passing the prescribed exams, if any, he or she can operate as a sole trader.
