What can be expected?

• The school leavers are able to adjust, operate and maintain the basic machine-tool types (lath, milling cutter, grinding machine, drilling machine, boring machine, etc.), operate numerically controlled machine-tools and check and measure the workpieces.
• They are also able to adjust, operate and maintain the basic machine-tool types and control the machining process.
• The education includes machining of metal and non-metallic materials, machining on both the classic universal and special NC and CNC machine-tools which are computer-programmed.
• The school leavers can get authorization for inert-gas shielded electric arc welding, stick electrode electric arc welding and gas welding.
• Practical training is provided in special workshops equipped with advanced devices under the supervision of instructors which is followed by internships.

Opportunities for the school leaver

• The student successfully passing the final examination is qualified for professions such as a metal machinist, turner, miller, grinder or NC/CNC machine operator.
• Depending on the study results achieved he or she can continue studies in follow-up courses (e.g. focused on business) in order to pass the “maturita” examination (similar to GCE examination).
• After getting the required experience and passing the prescribed exams, if any, he or she can operate as a sole trader.
